Buying the wrong equipment can be frustrating. To save you time and money we have a list of things to consider before you invest in a designated RV vacuum.

Size and Weight

RVs are quite small and often don’t come with much floor space compared to a house. For this reason, there is no need to get the largest vacuum on the market.

It will often take a matter of minutes to vacuum your entire RV, so a large vacuum is not necessary.

Weight is always something to consider because it affects gas consumption, wear and tear, etc. But there are some good options that only weigh 2-4 lbs.

Capacity

Following on from the previous point, you don’t need a large capacity for an RV vacuum.

The smaller the capacity, the smaller the vacuum. And overall size has priority. Most people don’t vacuum that frequently on the road, so don’t worry about sacrificing capacity. 

It will require more empties but we find this evens out with lower use than a home vacuum. 

Storage

Where will your vacuum be stored inside of your RV? We recommend considering this even before you make the purchase. Some vacuums, but not all, can be attached to a wall. This is a great option if you have the wall space.
